Anyone interested in going to this game ? I'm planning on going. Otto on this forum is going if I'm not mistaken. I'm playing for Cobra, I know the General and XO for Cobra and have played with them in the past. Those 2 guys will do a great job in the command role. Otto knows them a lot better than I do. The game is being held at Skyline Paintball in Strasburg,VA on April 22 & 23. According to mapquest it's a 4 hr drive from the Burlington/Greensboro area. Already over 200 players pre-registered for this event.

Link to the field : http://www.skylinepaintball.com/ .

Link to Blackcat's website : http://www.blackcatpaintball.com/events/06/gi_joe/gijoemain. htm .

Pre-registed players are entered in a drawing for a Smart Parts SP8. Tiberious Arms http://www.tiberiusarms.com/ is having one on one pistol matches using their pistols with the winner getting a new pistol.

I'm still undecided.   I've heard good things from Otto and Jett, but BlackCat games are expensive.

I haven't heard from you in a while, Enoch. How's your arm?

Enoch is correct, I will be in attendance at this game playing for the COBRA side.  Team BeBop's co-captain will be General for this event, and our team captain will be XO.  Remember to specify in your pre-reg form that you want to be Cobra :D  The deadline is coming up in not too long, if I recall.

I have not played this field, but I have heard nothing but 5-star ratings about it.  Skyline is one of the premire(sp?) fields on the East Coast.  And its a Black Cats game, you will certainly not regret going to this one.

Photon - The elbow is about 75-80%. I left you a voice mail to call me. I should be good to go by the GI Joe game. I have been out of work drawing my 100% short term disability. I havent worked since I hurt my arm in late January. I'm ready to get back out and play.

The Blackcat game prices are high, but from what I have heard it will be worth it. I plan on leaving the morning of April 21st. The field opens up @ noon that day. It's a land grab for campsites. I want to get there early enough to lay out my spread and go buy some grub for the weekend. No official campsites. I dont even know if there is running water at the field. I hope there are at least porta-johns. My days of taking a crap in a hole in the ground are over (LOL). I have a big tent 11x16 dome (3-4 people), 10x10 dining canopy, good sized table, camp stove, lantern, pots, pans, utensils, etc........ All i gotta do is plan my meals. Friday night there is free chow for all pre-regitered players.

Otto - What time are you planning on leaving. I would be interested in carpooling or at least following each other. U need a place to crash ? Or in camping in the CRV ?

Green Ion - I dont know u but if you are seriously interested in going PM me with your name, age, where you live, phone #.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend.  I just got the schedule for my production assignment at school, and I'll be in tech rehearsals that weekend.  Arrgghh, this is two in a row.  I should be at the Anzio game, though.

Danke sir, I have received and replied.  I'm not sure about camping arrangements at the moment, but if you have room I would of course like to crash in your tent :P  The CRV is comfy though, depends on the weather!

Blackcats games are pricey, but worth every penny.

For scenario attendance, I personally won't let anyone go with me to away
games unless they are at least 16, and my team will not let anyone under 18
travel with them unless their parents or legal guardians are accompanying
them. There are just too many issues that come up. For example, in the
unlikely event that you were to get injured, it would be a nightmare to seek
treatment for you.

Yeah, but I doubt any of that will happen. I thought at these big scnerio games they had medical staff and stuff like that. Nothing that bad could happen, I do this kind of stuff alot with my friends and other ballers. I will be o.k. on this trip.

No, they do not have medical staff at these games.  Some of the refs are probably trained with CPR, but no there is no full-time staff there.  Also, paintball fields are almost always located in the middle of nowhere.  How far is the nearest hospital from PBC?

Yes, bad stuff does happen.  This weekend, at Splatbrothers paintball, I was on the back-side of the field, moving up on the enemy CP from behind.  A guy that was with us, about your age, stepped on a board that had a nail in it, and it went most of the way through his foot.  One guy got heat stroke and had to be hospitalized about an hour after that.  Another person blew out their knee and received some nasty looking cuts on his neck just before that.  I managed to fall into the trenches on the trench field twice during night play (the trenches are as deep as I am tall, mind you).  Thankfully, I didn't wound anything other than my pride, but my bum and back are still sore from falling right on my @$$ when I jumped from the ground into the trenches at about 10pm Saturday night.

Accidents do happen, and they happen a lot.  I cannot risk that, and neither can my team.

Accidents do happen, I can attest to that. I dislocated my elbow @ PBC G'boro on Jan 21. It was a pretty bad injury. I just went back to work today. I am really glad I signed up for 100% reimbursement on my Short Term Disability benefits.

You suck Otto . LOL . I really wanted to go to the Splattbrothers game. I wanted to play that field so bad. I could just imagine playing the field with the 3 towers and trench complex at night with some Jimi Hendrix blaring in my mp3 player.

Quoting AH-nold " I'll be back!!!"

Back @ Silent Threat.

Awesome man! :P  Well, you'll get a chance to play at Splatbrothers with BeBop, Krisis, and the RATS again if you want, I think all of us are planning on heading back there for the MXS game there in October this year.  The third tower (SHOULD) be complete by then.  I hate shoulding on people, but my gosh they are slow at building out there!  On the other hand, I did notice a lot of subtle field changes, like the addition of more bunkers and better cover at several important areas.

the only problem is: It's hard t shoot a marker and a camera at the same time.  Maybe it's just me, but I always get alot of pictures of the staging area.

Yeah, you really have to have someone almost volunteer to bring your
camera person. My friend Grendel would occasionally get behind cover
near me and take pictures of the action, but there are almost no pictures
of him at the event as a result.

I cant believe I fit all my gear in my car for this game. Better on gas than the truck. There would not have been room in the car for another person with any gear. I will post an After Action Review and pics when I get a chance next week.

Can't wait to hear it.  I just read an article on "The Walls of Troy" by Black Cat and I'm interested to know if they did some of the same things at "Silent Threat".

OK, here we go...... I wasnt involved in the "Loop" of the twists of the planning in this game, and there was a lot, I just ran along on missions. I wasn't issued a Special role to play. Here is how my weekend went :

Friday morning left home @ 8:30 AM, arrived @ Skyline around 12:30 PM.......set up camp, ran to Food Lion for ice and beverages for the weekend. Got to walk the field and take some pics Friday afternoon. Pre-registration dinner consisted of steaks, Kielbasa sausages, chips, sodas, and cake. Then a rain of biblical proportion appeared. It rained hard from Friday afternoon until late Saturday morning, I think a total of 5".

Saturday I spent the day running missions with the RATS from the Raleigh area. First off taking the rocket field was fun. RP.com and his pump (Quack,Quack). The mission when Severe, Cockerkidd (I think), Ken, Lurker, and myself started out on the left tapeline from our CP heading towards the GI Joe CP. We spotted a couple of "Speedball types" heading our way. Ken goes into super ninja stealth mode as we back off, but staying in sight of the Joe patrol as "bait". When they came into range of the Saw (Ken's A-5 Flatline) he let loose with a "brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrattttttttttttttttttt" and lit them up, and they took off running, with Ken yelling "You cheaters, you wipers!!!!!". They never called themselves out. We continued on and traversing some of the nastiest and toughest terrain I have encountered playing paintball, we were in sight of the Joe CP. We linked up with some members of the Knight Stalkers from Kannapolis and began an assault on the Joe CP. After a lot of paint and some tough fighting, most of our patrol was eliminated, due to it being their reinsertion point as well. Motrin Man falling out of the Rocket on the rocket field ..... LOL ...... glad he was OK.
Saturday night play on the Rocket field was totally different from anything I have experienced before........ WE were taking sporadic fire from a sniper on a ridge overlooking our position. Bush from Team Krisis showed up with his night vision, scanned the area, and upon spotting the sniper yelled "Oh, There you are !!!!" The sniper let loose on what we think was full auto, which was against the rules. We got him out by manuevering on his position. Listening to Vicious on the radio keeping us informed of his stalk on the Joe spotlight while we gave him support fire from below was cool. Vicious had several close shots on the enemy and a couple of barrel tags.
Sunday I decided to run solo for a while. I bounced back and forth between the Rocket field and Frontier fort for about an hour holding off the Joes with other Cobra troopers. I fogged up really bad and returned to the CP to clear my goggles and Jet from Team BeBop invited me on a mission with him, Otto and a few other players. He handed me a prop explosive to throw when we reached our objective. We made our way past the Frontier fort, clawed our way up a very steep, muddy, rocky 40' hill, linked up with a sizable Cobra Patrol and began an assault on the jeep field. After trading a lot of shots with Joes for about 5 minutes, Jet called for a grenade, the patrol layed down intense cover fire, the grenadier charged, and eliminated the defensive position, we charged forward with about 40 Cobra troops, secured the position, completed mission. We then decided what the heck, lets go to the Joe CP. After some intense fighting, I took a hit and had to drop off the prop bomb to our closest player. I had to haul butt back to the CP, reinsert, and go all the way back to their position. Jet was leading an assault on the fort from the rear and the Joes were stacking up below the ridgeline. Since we were so close to their CP and so far wawy from ours our #'s started to dwindle. I dropped all my gear, pulled out the "F-bomb" grenade, pointed to the area where I wanted the rest of the team to lay down covering fire and started a charge with just my grenade. I made it about 5 yards when about 10 Joes popped over the top of the ridge and sent a wall of paint in our direction. I pulled off some "Neo from The Matrix" moves behind a skinny tree, threw a perfect lob with the grenade, and to my surprise it hit the only limb in my throwing path, bounced of a tree limb back in my direction slinging a lot of paint. I hit the deck rolling back down the path towards my gear only to get peppered by paint from the other team. I will leave those kinds of moves to younger and faster players in the future. LOL. I checked my paint situation and since it was low decided to go ahead and prepare for the final battle.
The Final battle was so freaking unreal. 100+ players opposing each other on the Urban field for 20 minutes. I entered the fight with 1200 paintballs. I was on the right corner (from our starting postion) working the Joe's leaving their reinsertion point. I dont know how many eliminations I had, but it was a lot. I had to reinsert 2x. I ran out of paint and just kept firing my gun. Everyone knows how the game ended, with a Cobra victory !!!

It was a great scenario game, huge $$$$ amount of prizes. I will definately attend another Blackcat scenario game. Broke camp, left Skyline field @ 4:30 PM Sunday and got home around 8:45 PM, tired and broke !!!

Pics of game from my photo album : http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/milsimpaintballer375/album?.di r=50eere2&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http% 3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/milsimpaintballer375/my_photos

Pics of game from the Blackcat website: http://www.blackcatpaintball.com/php/coppergallery/thumbnail s.php?album=78

Enjoy!!!!!!!
